Procedure

To a mixture of 4-chloro-3-nitrobenzonitril (5.5 g, 30 mmol) and (58) (5.1 g, 30 mmol) in THF (120 ml) was added sodium hydride (2.3 g, 50% suspension in mineral oil). After stirring at room temperature for 2 days, the mixture was poured into water and extracted with CH2Cl2. The extract was concentrated under reduced pressure and the residue was triturated with diethylether to yield crystalline (59) (9.2 g, 96%).
