Chloropyridine 30-2 (150 mg, 0.95 mmol) and 4-methoxybenzylamine (4 mL, 31 mmol) were combined neat and heated in a sealed tube at 160° for 4 days. After diluting with EtOAc and water the pH was adjusted to 7 phases separated and the organic phase was washed with brine, dried (MgSO4) and concentrated. Flash chromatography (twice on silica, 50% and 40% EtOAc/hexane) provided 30-3 as a yellow semi-solid.
