A mixture of D10 (4 g, 14.605 mmol), 4-phenylpiperidine (3.532 g, 21.907 mmol) and DIPEA (5.088 ml, 29.209 mmol) in CH3CN (150 ml) was heated in a sealed tube at 110° C. for 16 h. The mixture was then treated with NaHCO3 (aqueous sat. solution). The resulting mixture was extracted with EtOAc. The organic layer was separated, dried (Na2SO4) and concentrated in vacuo. The crude product was purified by column chromatography (silica gel; DCM/7M solution of NH3 in MeOH/EtOAc gradient as eluent). The desired fractions were collected and concentrated in vacuo to yield intermediate compound D14 (2.32 g, 52%) as a white solid.
