Triphosgene (20 mg, 0.07 mmol) was added to a solution of 5-amino-3-pyridin-2-yl-3,4-dihydro-2H-1,4-benzoxazine-3-carboxamide (40 mg, 0.2 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (5 mL) and N,N-diisopropylethylamine (60 μL, 0.3 mmol) at room temperature. The reaction was stirred for 1 h and then partitioned between ethyl acetate and water. The combined organic layer was washed with brine, dried over magnesium sulfate, filtered, and concentrated to give crude 2-oxo-4-pyridin-2-yl-1,2,4,5-tetrahydroimidazo[1,5,4-de][1,4]benzoxazine-4-carboxamide (0.040 g. 80%). LCMS calculated for C15H13N4O3 (M+H)+: m/z=297.1. found: 297.1.
