Procedure

A mixture of 6M HCl (3 mL), 6-((2,4-dichlorobenzyl)oxy)-N-(2-methoxyethyl)-3-(methoxymethoxy)-1-benzothiophene-2-carboxamide (170 mg) and THF (10 mL) was stirred at room temperature for 4 h. To the mixture was added saturated aqueous NaHCO3, and the mixture was extracted with EtOAc. The organic layer was separated, washed with brine, dried over MgSO4 and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was collected by filtration and washed with hexane to give the title compound (150 mg). The obtained crystals were recrystallized from acetone-hexane.
