To methyl 4-(3-amino-6-(1-(methylsulfonyl)piperidin-3-yl)pyrazin-2-yl)-2-fluorobenzoate (60 mg, 0.147 mmol) in THF (4 mL) and MeOH (2 mL) was added 1 M LiOH (400 μL, 0.400 mmol). The reaction mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight. The pH of the reaction mixture was adjusted to ˜3 to 4 with 2 N HCl, and the product was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was separated from water and washed with brine, dried over sodium sulfate, filtered off, and evaporated to provide the crude product, which was taken to the next step without further purification. LCMS (m/z): 395.1 (MH+), 0.573 min.
