Tert-butyl 3-(6-{(3,5-bis-trifluoromethyl-benzyl)-[2-(butyl-ethyl-amino)-5-trifluoromethyl-benzyl]-amino}-pyrimidin-4-ylamino)-propionate (60 mg) is dissolved in a 4N-hydrochloric acid in ethyl acetate (0.5 ml) and the mixture is stirred at room temperature for 1.5 hours. To the reaction solution are added ethyl acetate and water, and followed by a further addition of a saturated aqueous sodium bicarbonate solution to make the pH of aqueous layer to be about 4, and the mixture is separated. The organic layer is washed with a saturated brine, dried over magnesium sulfate and the mixture is concentrated under reduced pressure to give 3-(6-{(3,5-bis-trifluoromethyl-benzyl)-[2-(butyl-ethyl-amino)-5-trifluoromethyl-benzyl]-amino}-pyrimidin-4-ylamino)-propionic acid (57 mg). MS (m/z): 666 [M+H]+
