A mixture of 4-chloro-8-(2,6-dichlorobenzoylamino)quinoline (200 mg) and hydrazine monohydrate (285 mg) in ethanol (4 ml) and N-methylpyrrolidone (1 ml) was heated at 100° C. overnight. After cooling, the resulting precipitates were collected by filtration, and the residue was recrystallized from ethanol to give 8-(2,6-dichlorobenzoylamino)-4-hydrazinoquinoline (173 mg).
