Procedure
Compound 18 (0.5 g, 1 mmol) was dissolved in THF (25 mL), lithium hydroxide (48 mg, 2 mmol) dissolved in water (5 mL) was added. The resulting mixture was stirred at 60° C. overnight. The reaction mixture was allowed to cool down to room temperature then poured in water. The pH of the resulting mixture was adjusted to pH=4 by addition of a 1 M solution of hydrochloric acid. Then the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was dried over MgSO4 and concentrated. The residue was purified by column chromatography using dichloromethane and methanol. The title compound 17 (400 mg, 94%) was isolated as a white powder. m/z=419 (M+H)+.
