1-(2-(4-Bromophenoxy)-2-methylpropanoyl)-4-methylpiperazine was prepared in accordance to the procedure described in Example 29(a) from 2-(4-bromophenoxy)-2-methylpropanoyl chloride and 1-methylpiperazine (5.3 mL, 17.5 mmol). This compound (2.37 g, 6.95 mmol) was dissolved in Et2O and HCl in dioxane (4M, 2.26 mL) was added dropwise with stirring. The precipitate was filtered off and dried to yield the sub-title compound (2.5 g, 95%).
