Temperature: 100 °C

Procedure

To a solution of 3 g of 2,3-dichloro-4-hydroxy-3'-fluorobenzophenone oxime in 20 ml of DMF, 0.25 g of NaH is added in an atmosphere of N2. The mixture is stirred for 18 hours. The mixture is heated to 100° C. for one hour. The reaction mixture is poured into ice water to yield 7-chloro-3-(3-fluorophenyl)-6-methoxy-1,2-benzisoxazole, mp 149°-150° C.
