To a stirred mixture of (S)-5′-amino-6′-bromo-3-methyl-spiro[imidazolidine-4,2′-indane]-2,5-dione (50 mg, 0.161 mmol, described in Intermediate 18) and (2-oxo-3-pyridin-2-yl-2,3-dihydro-1H-benzimidazol-1-yl)acetic acid (52 mg, 0.193 mmol, described in Intermediate 16) in DMF (1 mL) were added N,N-diisopropylethylamine (0.028 mL, 0.161 mmol), followed by PyBOP (126 mg, 0.242 mmol). The reaction mixture was heated to 40° C. for 5 h, then PyBOP (126 mg, 0.242 mmol) was added and heating was continued for 18 h. The cooled mixture was purified by HPLC using a reversed phase C18 column and eluting with a gradient of H2O:CH3CN:CF3CO2H-90:10:0.1 to 5:95:0.1. The pure, product-containing fractions were combined and concentrated to give the title compound. MS: m/z=563 (M+1).
