To a mixture of ethyl 8-chloro-3-[3-methoxy-4-(2-methyl-1,3-oxazol-5-yl)phenyl]-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyridine-8-carboxylate (500 mg) and potassium carbonate (497 mg) in DMF (6.0 mL) was added 3,4-difluorobenzenethiol (0.133 mL), and the mixture was stirred at 100° C. for 4 hr. The reaction mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate, the mixture was washed with saturated brine and dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and the solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate/hexane) to give the title compound (491 mg).
