A mixture of ethyl 8-chloro-3-[3-methoxy-4-(2-methyl-1,3-oxazol-5-yl)phenyl]-5,6,7,8-tetrahydro[1,2,4]triazolo[4,3-a]pyridine-8-carboxylate (671 mg), 3,5-difluorophenol (220 mg), potassium carbonate (667 mg) and DMF (6 mL) was stirred at 100° C. for 1 hr, the reaction mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate, and the mixture was washed with saturated brine. The organic layer was dried over anhydrous magnesium sulfate, and purified by silica gel chromatography (NH, ethyl acetate). The solvent was evaporated under reduced pressure. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (ethyl acetate/hexane) to give the title compound (317 mg).
