(trans)-4-(4-Bromophenyl)cyclohexanol (100 mg), 2-fluorobenzoic acid (130 mg) and triphenylphosphine (225 mg) are dissolved in tetrahydrofurane (2 mL), treated dropwise with diisopropylazodicarboxylate (170 μL) and the mixture is stirred for 12 hours. Then the mixture is partitioned between ethylacetate and saturated aqueous NaHCO3 solution. The organic phase is dried (MgSO4) and concentrated. The residue is chromatographed on silica gel (cyclohexane/ethyl acetate 99:1→70:30) to give the title compound. LC (method 1): tR=1.29 min; Mass spectrum (ESI+): m/z=399 [M+Na]+.
