A solution of 4.08-B (0.2 g, 0.7 mmol), 3-bromo-1-propanol (0.1 mL, 1.1 mmol), and potassium carbonate (147 mg, 1.1 mmol) in N,N-dimethylformamide (3 mL) was heated at 80° C. for 1 h. The reaction mixture was diluted with ethyl acetate (75 mL) and washed with 0.5 N HCl (50 mL) and brine (50 mL), dried with Na2SO4, filtered, and concentrated to give a crude residue which was purified using flash column chromatography (100% hexane to 50% ethyl acetate/hexane) to yield 4.08-C as a white solid (0.21 g, 88%). 1H NMR (500 MHz, CDCl3): δ 7.42 (dd, J=7.8, 7.8 Hz, 1H), 7.36–7.34 (m, 1H), 7.30 (dd, J=2.0, 2.0 Hz, 1H), 7.11–7.09 (m, 1H), 6.63 (s, 1H), 4.18–4.12 (m, 2H), 3.90–3.86 (m, 2H), 2.10–2.05 (m, 2H), 1.73 (s, 9H); LCMS found for C16H22NO5S (M+H)+: m/z=340.
