PROCEDURE

To a solution of the compound of Example 58 (7.50 g, 37.4 mmol) and triethylamine (5.74 ml, 41.2 mmol) in dichloromethane (100 ml), cooled in an ice bath, was added dropwise benzyl chloroformate (21.4 ml, 150 mmol). The reaction mixture was allowed to warm to room temperature and stirred under nitrogen for 3 h. The mixture was cooled, before addition of aqueous sodium hydrogen carbonate solution and dichloromethane and the two layers were separated. The aqueous phase was extracted with dichloromethane and the combined organic phases were dried (MgSO4) and concentrated in vacuo. To the residue was added cyclohexane and the solution was filtered and concentrated in vacuo.
