7 g (34 mmol) of 1-(pyridine-4-yl)-piperidine-4-carboxylate hydrochloride was stirred in 340 ml of dichloromethane, and 1 ml of dimethylformamide and 10.4 ml (109 mmol) of oxalyl dichloride were added thereto and stirred at room temperature for 1 hour. The solvent was distilled off, and the residue was dried with a vacuum pump to obtain the title compound.
