Methyl (5-((7-(3-chloropropoxy)-6-methoxyquinazolin-4-yl)amino)-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)acetate (100 mg, 0.247 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (1.2 ml)/water (0.6 ml), was stirred with lithium hydroxide (21 mg, 0.493 mmol) at ambient temperature for 18 hours. The mixture was acidified with 6.0 N hydrochloric acid to pH 4 and the solid was recovered by filtration, washed with water and dried to yield (5-((7-(3-chloropropoxy)-6-methoxyquinazolin-4-yl)amino)-1H-pyrazol-3-yl)acetic acid (72 mg, 75% yield) as a beige solid:
