Procedure
A mixture of 8,9-dihydro-9-methyl-8-oxo-2-phenyl-7H-purin-7-acetic acid (9.1 g) obtained in Example 48-(2), methylamine hydrochloride (3.2 g), BOP reagent (21.2 g), triethylamine (9.7 g), and dimethylformamide (100 ml) is stirred at room temperature for two hours. Water is added to the reaction mixture, and the precipitates are collected by filtration, and washed with water to give crude 8,9-dihydro-9-methyl-N-methyl-8-oxo-2-phenyl-7H-purin-7-acetamide (8.1 g).
