Procedure
Using the same procedure as in Example 1(i), 10 g of N-benzyloxycarbonyl-L-phenylalanine, 3.3 g of triethylamine, 3.7 g of ethyl chlorocarbonate and 3.5 g of 2-amino-1,3,4-thiadiazole were reacted in chloroform to obtain 9.1 g (yield: 71%) of 2-(N-benzyloxycarbonyl-L-phenylalanylamino)-1,3,4-thiadiazole as white crystals of mp: 78°-83° C. and [α]D20 : +28.0° (C=1.2, MeOH).
