A suspension of the product obtained in Step B (850 mg, 2.26 mmol) in 25 ml of THF in the presence of 675 μl (4.52 mmol) of DBU is refluxed for 1 hour. It is allowed to return to ambient temperature and is acidified with 1N HCl, and the white precipitate corresponding to the title product is filtered off. Elemental micro-analysis:
