To a stirring solution of t-butyl 6-(5-(chloromethyl)thiazol-2-yl)pyridazin-3-yl((1-(3-fluoropyridin-2-yl)cyclobutyl)methyl)carbamate (60.7 g, 124 mmol) in DMF (800 mL) was added sodium azide (22.2 g, 341 mmol) and DIPEA (31.1 mL, 171 mmol). The reaction was heated to 60° C. and stirred for 1 h. The reaction was poured into ethyl acetate (2000 mL), washed with water (3×400 mL), and the combined organic layers were separated, dried over Na2SO4, filtered, concentrated, and purified by silica gel chromatography (EtOAC/hexanes) to afford 20.0 g of t-butyl 6-(5-(azidomethyl)thiazol-2-yl)pyridazin-3-yl((1-(3-fluoropyridin-2-yl)cyclobutyl)methyl)carbamate as a yellow oil.
