A stirring solution of N-(6-chloro-4-o-tolylpyridin-3-yl)-N-methyl-3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)benzamide (100 mg, 0.21 mmol, example 12), tetrakis-triphenylphosphine palladium(0) (24 mg, 0.020 mmol, CAS RN 14221-01-3) and zinc cyanide (31 mg, 0.26 mmol, CAS RN 557-21-1) in DMF (1.5 mL) was heated to 100° C. for 30 min, 120° C. for 30 min and 150° C. for 30 min by microwave irradiation. After cooling, the reaction mixture was diluted with water and extracted three times with EtOAc. The combined organic layers were washed three times with water and once with brine and dried over Na2SO4. Filtration followed by removal of volatiles under reduced pressure gave crude product. The title compound was isolated by flash chromatography (25% EtOAc in n-hexane) as a viscous oil (7.5 mg, 8%). MS (ESI): m/z=463.9 [M+H]+.
