To a solution of N-[4-(4-fluoro-2-hydroxy-phenyl)-pyridin-3-yl]-N-methyl-3,5-bis-trifluoromethyl-benzamide (150 mg, 0.327 mmol, example 48) in DMF (5 mL) was added K2CO3 (90 mg, 0.654 mmol) and methyl chloroacetate (0.06 mL, 0.654 mmol, CAS RN 96-34-4) at 25° C. and the resulting mixture was heated to 70° C. for 16 hours. The mixture was diluted with EtOAc (25 mL), washed with brine (10 mL), dried over anhydrous Na2SO4, filtered and evaporated in vacuo. The crude material thus obtained was purified by column chromatography over silica gel (30% EtOAc in n-hexane) to give 100 mg of the title compound. Pale yellow solid (58%). MS (ESI): m/z=531.0 [M+H]+.
