A mixture of 3-bromo-5-{(S)-1-[(R)-1-(4-methoxy-phenyl)-ethyl]-pyrrolidin-2-yl}-pyridine (4.0 g, 11 mmol), 1H-indole-4-carboxylic acid ethyl ester (6.3 g, 33 mmol), K2CO3 (2.3 g, 16.6 mmol), copper iodide (0.42 g, 2.2 mmol) in NMP (22 mL) was heated in a microwave tube at 190° C. for 30 minutes. The resulting mixture was cooled to room temperature filtered through celite and concentrated under reduced pressure to give an oil. This oil was purified by silica gel column chromatography (30% ethyl acetate/heptane) to give the titled compound as a yellow solid (2.2 g, 42%).
