Using General Procedure B: To a stirred solution of 4-{[(1H-benzimidazol-2-ylmethyl)-(5,6,7,8-tetrahydro-quinolin-8-yl)-amino]-methyl}-benzaldehyde (150 mg, 0.37 mmol), pyrrolidine (30 μL, 0.36 mmol) and AcOH (20 μL, 0.37 mmol) in THF (4 mL) was added NaBH(OAc)3 (235 mg, 1.11 mmol) and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 1.5 hours. Purification of the crude white foam (205 mg) by column chromatography on silica gel (100:1:1—CH2Cl2:MeOH:NH4OH) afforded the desired product (160 mg, 96%) as a white foam.
