At a temperature of 65° C., methyl methacrylate (MMA) and hydroxyethylimidazole (HEI) in a molar ratio of 5:1 were heated in the presence of 50 ppm pf phenothiazine, 500 ppm of hydroquinone monomethyl ether and 1.25 mol % of a catalyst (based on hydroxyethylimidazole) for 5 h.
