Procedure

To a solution of 31 (700 mg, 2.83 mmol), (1H-indol-4-yl)methanol (1.25 g, 8.50 mmol), and triphenylphosphine (2.97 g, 11.3 mmol) in tetrahydrofuran (30 mL) at 60° C. under nitrogen atmosphere was added diisopropyl azodicarboxylate (1.43 g, 7.07 mmol). The mixture was cooled to room temperature, concentrated, and purified by chromatography (silica gel, 0-100% ethyl acetate/hexanes) to give crude 59 (1.94 g, contained Ph3PO).

Workup

  1. concentrationconcentrated
  2. custompurified by chromatography (silica gel, 0-100% ethyl acetate/hexanes)
