60% sodium hydride (46 mg) was added to an anhydrous dimethylformamide solution (4 mL) of hydroquinone (0.18 g) under cooling with ice-water and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for fourty minutes under nitrogen atmosphere. The compound (0.40 g) obtained in Step 3 was added to the mixture, and the reaction mixture was stirred at 80° C. for four hours under nitrogen atmosphere. Water (40 mL) was added to the mixture under cooling with ice-water and the mixture was extracted with ethyl acetate. The organic layer was washed with water and brine successively, dried over anhydrous sodium sulfate and then, the solvent was removed under reduced pressure. The obtained residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography (eluent; ethyl acetate:methanol=49:1 to 19:1) and the obtained fractions were concentrated and washed with ether-ethyl acetate to obtain the titled compound (52 mg).
