1 mmol of Tos-Gly-Pro-Arg-OH was suspended in 30 ml of tetrahydrofuran (dry). 4 mmol of ethyl chloroformate were added at room temperature, and the mixture was stirred for about 15 minutes and cooled to -10° C. 3 mmol of N-methylmorpholine were added and the mixture was stirred at room temperature for 60 minutes. 3 mmol of resazurin in 60 ml of desiccated tetrahydrofuran were then admixed dropwise. The reaction was complete after 4 h and the mixture was filtered and the filtrate was evaporated.
