A mixture of 4-(4-bromo-2-fluorophenylamino)-5-fluoro-1-methyl-6-oxo-1,6-dihydropyridine-3-carboxylic acid (70 mg, 0.195 mmol), EDCI (112 mg, 0.585 mmol), and HOBt (79 mg, 0.585 mmol) in DMF (3 mL) was stirred for 30 minutes. Hydrazine (19 mg, 0.585 mmol) was added followed by Et3N (0.082 mL, 0.585 mmol). After 3 hours, the reaction mixture was diluted with EtOAc and washed with saturated NH4Cl solution, saturated NaHCO3 solution and brine. The organic layer was dried (MgSO4) and concentrated to yield 64 mg (89%) desired product.
