To a stirred solution of Intermediate 1 (see Example 1.1, 2 g, 7.24 mmol), benzotriazole-1-yl-oxytripyrrolidinophosphonium hexafluorophosphate (PyBOP, 4.52 g, 8.69 mmol) and DIEA (2.52 mL, 14.48 mmol) in DMF (20 mL) was added 2-amino-2-methylpropan-1-ol (0.833 mL, 8.69 mmol). The reaction was stirred at room temperature overnight, then poured into water, and extracted with ethyl acetate. The combined organics were dried and concentrated. The residue was purified by silica gel column chromatography to give the title compound as a white solid (2.08 g). LCMS m/z=348.4 [M+H]+; 1H NMR (400 MHz, CDCl3) ppm 0.48 (td, J=4.7, 3.3 Hz, 1H), 1.16 (td, J=7.8, 4.9 Hz, 1H), 1.371 (s, 3H), 1.376 (s, 3H), 2.08-2.13 (m, 1H), 2.25-2.31 (m, 1H), 2.94 (d, J=16.8 Hz, 1H), 3.04 (dd, J=16.4, 6.2 Hz, 1H), 3.68 (d, J=3.5 Hz, 2H), 4.81-4.84 (m, 1H), 6.88 (bs, 1H), 6.99-7.05 (m, 2H), 7.59-7.65 (m, 1H).
