DIAD (0.348 mL, 1.791 mmol) was added to a solution of 2,3-dihydro-1H-isoindole-1,3-dione (CAS number 136918-14-4; 0.263 g, 1.791 mmol), triphenylphosphine (0.470 g, 1.791 mmol) and 2-{[5-(trifluoromethyl)pyridin-2-yl]methyl}cyclopentan-1-ol (Diastereomer 2) (0.366 g, 1.492 mmol) in THF (2 ml) under nitrogen. The reaction was stirred at room temperature for 72 hours and then concentrated. The crude product was purified by column chromatography (silica, 0-20% ethyl acetate/petrol) to afford the title compound.
