Procedure

The compound of Example 97 is reacted with 1,3-dibromopropane and potassium carbonate in DMF to give 5-[5-(4-chlorophenyl)pent-4-ynyl]-3-(3-bromopropyl)-5-(4-methoxybenzenesulfonyl)thiazolidine-2,4-dione, and this is reacted with imidazole, sodium salt in DMF, and in the presence of a catalytic amount of potassium iodide to give the title compound as a light tan solid, mp 111-113° C.
