Procedure
A suspension of 1.035 g (5 mmol) of ethyl 5-fluoro-1H-indole-2-carboxylate, 0.865 g (6 mmol) of 3-fluorobenzyl chloride and 1.38 g (10 mmol) of potassium carbonate in 50 ml of dimethylformamide is stirred for 24 h at 60° C. The reaction mixture is subsequently cooled and poured into a mixture of ice-cold water and of ethyl acetate.
