To the solution of (3-Methoxy-phenoxy)-acetic acid (1.0 mmol) in dry DMF (10 mL), were added 1-hydroxybenzotriazole (1.2 mmol), 1-ethyl-3-(3′-dimethylaminopropyl)carbodiimide (2 mmol) and N-methylmorpholine (2.0 mmol). Solution was cooled to 0° C. N-(2-aminophenyl)-4,5,6,7-tetrahydrothieno[2,3-c]pyridine-2-carboxamide (1.0 eq) obtained in step VII of example 216 was then added and mixture was stirred at room temperature overnight.
