0.200 g (0.93 mmol) of 2,4-dichloro-6,7-dihydrothieno[3,2-d]pyrimidine, 0.127 g (0.93 mmol) of 3-aminobenzoic acid, and 0.323 mL (1.85 mmol) of diisopropylethylamine are placed in 4 mL of tetrahydrofuran, stirred for 48 hours at ambient temperature and 48 hours at 70° C. Then the reaction mixture is combined with water and acidified with 1N hydrochloric acid. The precipitate formed is suction filtered and dried. 0.110 g of product I (39%) is obtained.
