Procedure

Using the procedure of Step F of Example 6, 8.6 g of the product of Step E and 2.47 g of 2-amino-thiazole were reacted in the presence of 5.59 g of dicyclohexylcarbodiimide in 125 ml of dimethylformamide to obtain a raw product which was dissolved in aqueous N sodium hydroxide. Addition of hydrochloric acid yielded 2.76 g of N-(2-thiazolyl)-4-hydroxy-2-phenylmethyl-8-trifluoromethyl-quinoline-3-carboxamide in the form of slightly ocre colored crystals melting at 256° C.
