Following general procedure D and 6-bromo-8-cyclopropyl-3,4-dihydro-4,4-dimethylspiro[2H-1-benzopyran-2,1′-cyclopropane] (Intermediate 42, 0.74 g, 2.4 mmol), (trimethylsilyl)acetylene (4 mL, 28 mmol), triethyl amine (8 mL), anhydrous tetrahydrofiran, copper(I)iodide (0.050 g, 0.26 mmol) and dichlorobis(triphenylphosphine)palladium(II) (0.15 g, 0.22 mmol), followed by flash column chromatography over silica gel (230-400 mesh) using 1-2% ethyl acetate in hexane as the eluent, the title compound was obtained as an oil (0.62 g, 80%).
