Procedure

To an ambient solution of EXAMPLE 14A (245 mg) in tetrahydrofuran (2.1 mL) was added a solution of LiOH (30.9 mg) in water (0.52 mL). The reaction was stirred overnight, diluted with 2 mL water and 2 mL ethyl acetate, and acidified to pH ˜3 with 10% aqueous HCl solution. The layers were separated, and the aqueous layer was extracted with additional ethyl acetate (2×8 mL). The combined organic layers were dried with anhydrous sodium sulfate, filtered and concentrated under reduced pressure to provide the title compound.
