General Procedure A. To a solution of 1-benzyl-N-(3,4-difluorobenzyl)-6-hydroxy-2-isopropyl-1H-indole-3-carboxamide (Compound 8, 40 mg, 0.092 mmol) in DMF (2.0 ml) was added K2CO3 (39 mg, 0.28 mmol) and iodoethane (22 μl, 0.28 mmol). The reaction was stirred at room temperature for 48 h, diluted with EtOAc, washed with H2O, brine, dried over Na2SO4 and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by PTLC on silica gel (30% EtOAc-hexanes) to yield the title compound as an off-white solid.
