Procedure

A solution of the product of step (a) (4.0 g), 3,4-dichlorobenzylchloride (1.9 ml) and triethylamine (9.0 ml) in N,N-dimethylformamide (20 ml) was stirred at room temperature. The solvent was removed and the residue purified by chromatography (dichloromethane:methanol, 1:0 to 4:1) to give an oil, which was treated with 1.0M ethereal hydrogen chloride to give the product as a solid (3.1 g), m.p. 240-41° C.
