To a solution of 1-benzyl-6-chloro-2-isopropyl-1H-pyrrolo[3,2-c]pyridine-3-carboxylic acid (Compound 15, 138 mg, 0.42 mmol) and 3,4-difluorobenzylamine (0.15 ml, 1.26 mmol) in DMF (4.0 ml) was added EDC (121 mg, 0.63 mmol) and DMAP (77 mg, 0.63 mmol). The mixture was stirred at room temperature for 16 h and was diluted with EtOAc, washed with H2O and brine, dried over Na2SO4, and concentrated in vacuo. The residue was purified by chromatography on silica gel (0→100% EtOAc-hexanes) to yield the title compound as a light yellow solid.
